Through the "Compulsory Automobile Liability Insurance Electronic Certificate Inquiry" webpage (https://ecard.cali.org.tw/PPCP_QRY/), you can easily check the validity period of compulsory automobile liability insurance. In addition to contributing carbon reduction, there is no need to worry about the inconvenience of loss and reapplication or the risk of personal information leakage.

According to the latest regulations, individuals who have not purchased compulsory insurance and are inspected by the highway supervisory authority during roadside checks or by the police, or those who are reported for violating the regulations on road traffic management, will face the following fines:

For vehicles without compulsory insurance:

  • Cars: NT$3,000 to NT$15,000
  • Motorcycles: NT$1,500 to NT$3,000
  • Mini electric two-wheel vehicles: NT$750 to NT$1,500

In the event of an accident involving an uninsured vehicle, the fines are as follows:

  • Cars: NT$12,000 to NT$32,000
  • Motorcycles: NT$10,000 to NT$16,000
  • Mini electric two-wheel vehicles: NT$9,000 to NT$12,000

Mr. Li, the director of the Kaohsiung Motor Vehicles Office, reminds everyone that according to regulations, all vehicle owners must purchase compulsory automobile liability insurance. It is recommended to complete the renewal procedures before the expiration of the original insurance period to avoid gaps in insurance coverage.
